The Business Description
Ether-ray provides on-demand, hosted software for corporate communications teams, and with over 200 clients, it is the clear market-leader for media relations management software in the UK. Newsflash MARCOMM covers all facets of the communications function, including media and public relations, stakeholder management, internal communications, and marketing. Users enjoy unparalleled increases in productivity and efficiency by having easy access to software that streamlines and simplifies their workload. Through one, integrated application, users are able to capture, create, distribute, and analyse all communications, driving brand recognition in the communities they serve and upholding the reputation of their organisation.
The Management Team
After a successful period of post-acquisition transition, Charlie O’Rourke has taken over the overall management responsibility for the Ether-ray business in September 2009. Charlie was previously Sales and Marketing Director at Solcara, an Access Intelligence company, and has over ten years experience working in the media relations software market-place. The original owner, Raul Gonzalez, is retained on a consultative basis.
Current Business Performance
Ether-ray enjoys the predictability of revenue and profits expected form the SaaS business. The vast majority of clients enter six year deals with a three year break clause; on average two new clients per month become subscribers to the online service and there are over 200 company subscriptions to the service. These are mainly local authorities, development agencies, and NHS trusts. There is significant potential to grow the business with targeted campaigns into the commercial sector.
